Everything You Need to Know About Betting on r88
Betting on Basketball in the Philippines
Basketball is the sport closest to the Filipino heart, and r88 gives it the sportsbook coverage it deserves. The PBA season runs in three conferences throughout the year, which means there is almost always a meaningful game on the schedule. r88 offers match winner, quarter betting, handicap, and total points markets for PBA games, so you can choose the depth of engagement that suits you — from a quick outright pick before tip-off to active in-play betting through all four quarters.
For NBA fans, r88's basketball markets extend through the full regular season calendar and deepen during the playoffs when the games get their highest-profile. Championship futures let you lock in a position on your preferred team before the bracket picture becomes clearer — which is often where the best value sits.
Boxing Betting: Backing Philippine Champions
The Philippines has produced some of the finest boxers in the sport's history, and that legacy continues with a new generation of Filipino fighters competing on the world stage. r88 covers major international boxing cards with markets that go beyond simple win/loss — round betting, method of victory, and over/under rounds are available for marquee bouts, giving experienced boxing bettors a wider set of angles to work with.
For big fight nights, r88 typically opens betting markets well in advance, which gives you time to track fighters' recent performances, weigh the matchup, and place your bets before the public narrative drives the odds in one direction.
Football Betting: EPL, Champions League, and AFC
Football's global reach means r88's football sportsbook is one of the most active sections on the platform. English Premier League games draw the biggest betting volume from Filipino users, with the familiarity of established clubs and the quality of the competition making every matchday worth following. The UEFA Champions League knockout stages, La Liga title races, and AFC Champions League matches also feature regularly in r88's football markets.
Asian handicap betting is particularly well-suited to football because it removes the draw outcome and compresses the odds range, often providing better value on both sides of a match. r88 offers full Asian handicap coverage across its main football competitions alongside European handicap and standard 1X2 markets.
Esports: A Growing Betting Market in the Philippines
The Philippines has one of the most engaged esports communities in Southeast Asia. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is practically a national sport at this point, with MPL Philippines producing teams that compete at the top of the regional standings and the M-Series World Championships. r88 covers MPL Philippines match-by-match throughout the season, as well as major international Dota 2 and CS2 tournaments.
Esports betting at r88 works the same way as traditional sports — you browse markets, select odds, enter your PHP stake, and follow the match in real time. Many esports events are streamed publicly, so you can watch alongside your active bet with full awareness of how the match is unfolding.
Responsible Betting at r88
r88 is committed to a safe and enjoyable betting environment for all Filipino players. Betting should be a form of entertainment with a clearly defined budget — never a way to generate income or recover previous losses. Before you bet, set a session budget you are comfortable losing, and treat any winnings as a bonus rather than an expectation.
r88 provides account tools to help you manage your activity. If you ever feel that betting is becoming a problem, r88's support team is available around the clock and you can find further guidance on the Responsible Gaming page. Remember: 21+ only, and always play within your means.
